With the recent hot and sunny weather this beer garden has been packed out and I have made a few visits myself. Located in central Berlin and one of Berlin’s oldest beer gardens, The Prater is hugely popular during the summer months. It is packed out with both tourists and locals. If you are planning a visit to Berlin during the summer then make sure you stop by this place to enjoy a cold beer in a very laid back environment. For all you Berliners, this place is a must and can be enjoyed on a sunny weekend or for an after work beer.
The beer and other drinks are not too expensive and their is a kiosk serving typical German ‘beer food’ ranging from bratwurst, to potato salad, to corn on the cob. The area is quite big with long benches and there is even a small childrens area. Yes – Berlin can be child friendly. Just behind the beer garden is a restaurant for those who want to experience some typical German cuisine. At night the beer garden is lit up with fairy lights.
Some call this a tourist hub and that is partly true but there are also a lot of locals who go here too. The atmosphere is really fun and chilled out and is a perfect way to spend a hot, sunny Sunday afternoon or to enjoy a beer on a warm summer evening.
