Chilli oil is something so simple but it really does give a dish that extra kick. I first started using chilli olive oil properly after going to a local Italian of mine. Making your own is really simple and it tastes amazing with a salad or pasta dish.
2 tbpsn crushed chilli flakes (Berliners – you can buy these at any asian store)
olive oil (enough to fill up an empty oil bottle)
2 red chillis (finely chopped)
- Add everything to an empty oil bottle and mix well. Leave for a few days to bring out the spice and taste and then you can start to use it.
