We have a new tradition in the office – Cake Monday! Each Monday a different person has to bake a cake which is a perfect Monday morning treat when you come into the office and see a load of goodies waiting to be eaten. There are also no excuses as you can bake over the weekend. This week it was my turn and I baked my Chewy Oat Cookies and Banana Bread. Both were more or less gone by lunch time so I can guess that this is a good sign.
I never used to be into baking. I have always preferred cooking. To me baking always seemed to take more time and to be of more effort but it is actually pretty easy. I do still prefer to cook a meal but baking every now and then can be strangely therapeutic. Just make a pot of tea, put on BBC 6 Music Sunday Sessions and bake away. Your home always smells lovely too. Yet I couldnt do this without my measuring cylinder. This was given to me by my boyfriend’s mum and is much better than getting the measuring scales out and taking up space (especially if you have a small kitchen like mine!). The greatest thing is that you can measure in equivalents of gramms, English cups, and American Cups. Perfect for those oveseas recipes that you have picked up.
I would definately recommend buying one of these. Especially my American friends who have never previously worked in gramms.
